| I got HL2 to work on the Lost Coast engine! What you need: GCFScape "half-life 2 content.gcf" "Source engine.gcf" a bit of patience 1. Make an folder in .../Steamapps/sourcemods called "HL2_04" 2. Extract the content from "source engine.gcf" to HL2_04 3. Same with "half-life 2 content.gcf" 4. go to .../Steamapps/sourcemods/HL2_04 and open "gameinfo.txt" 5. Change "SteamAppID" to "340" 6. Restart Steam 7. ??? 8. PROFIT! Known Bugs: Weapon Selection Menu No Menu How to play it: Right click on the mod, "Properties", "Advanced Start Options", then add "-console". Imgame type in the console "map d1_trainstation_01" to start.

| I just had an idea. Is it possible for HL2 to run on Half-Life 2 Deathmatch's engine? Or is there any difference between the one Lost Coast uses and the one Deathmatch uses? |

I'm just asking because it seems to be a bit more similar to the "old" engine HL2 ran on. |
