What this is all about



Yeah, i got the Leak Hammer working. Finally. With the help of Josh and Jenkins i am now able to map for the one and only Leak Cool
Another awesome feature results out of that fact, too:
I can share everything i create in Leak Hammer with the public. Everyone with the Leak will be able to play it without errors or missing textures
(except some non-standard Leak files which can be easily included in the download)

For me that's a huge push of spur cyclops
No more Katatonic insulting me of not handing out shit and no more limitations in what i create

Last but not least it's the nostalgic feeling Sven has mentioned. After getting my hands on ШЛЫК's infamous Air Exchange Mod during my early days
of getting used to the Leak i had no idea how the AirEx-maps were originally intended to be connected or what was supposed to happen in certain areas. His Mod helped me alot
in the way of getting an overview of my favorite cut-out chapter and i thank him for that.

I will keep my progress updated in this thread, so you can check it out from time to time. Let's go!



Introduction



There is no finalized playable storyline for the Leak where i could include my AirEx-maps into, so i decided to make the following:
I'll leave an info_landmark at the beginning of the first map, so i or someone else can use this as a possibility to combine his maps with my ones through a simple changelevel.

But there's something else for all the people who will load the map manually. I decided to use the cool Half-Life 2 Intro used at E3 2003/2004 as an introduction for my map:

VALVe always tends to overlap brushes or make them bigger than they need to be. And, unfortunatley, the most horrible maps are the leaked ones. So before you actually can start
to do changes to them you need to rebush the whole damn thing.  Neutral
"airex_0102" is such a hell. Last edited in 2001, there is so much stuff thrown into it that you need strong nerves to sort out everything step by step (At that time VALVe
experimented alot. This is such a result). Finally you get the very first version of the beginning of Air Exchange. I will start with the following situation:

The First Glimpse (D2_AirEx_InsideWall)



Same goes to the next part. I splitted the old start up into three sections, with the second being the bridge section similiar to the one in airex_start. Again, one mess of a brushwork.
I also added the two characteristic vents, which are the easiest way as a levelchange.

the RTB bridge

fools, lambda, if you wanna' go with this lot np bud but i still think you should put in the e3 ones, unless you wanted to give them a DRAMATIC overhaul and make them look more futureistic (like some jagged edges or somin round the struts)
