Ok

This question has plagued me for a LONG TIME on my mod.....a question that with every passing month seems to get bigger and more unreachable, BUT...it's worth a try...

Now, many of the ideas me and jenkins have come up with, are hard todo. Specialy when you have no coder, so heres a few things that we put down:

Player Asspects:
We want the mod to be multiplayer co-op at all times. My three marines work in a team and we want to put that up on screen to, so each person will have his own strength and weaknesses.

HART:
Able to hack certan doors and or com terminals.
Takes drugs that give differnt effects (some good some bad, when mixed will create differnt results)
Less armor than both sarge and genosha but speed is incresed aswell as accuracy

Weapon load out for hart:
Dual Pistols
Hart's Pulse Rifle
Sniper Rifle
Grenades

SARGE:
Ability to kick down certain doors
Can take combat stims to increase melee dmg and give slight speed boost
Has alot of defence but is a bit slow
Can dual weild melee weapons

Weapon Loadout for sarge:
Combat Knife/Stun-Baton
Sarge's Hand Cannon
Shotgun
Heavy Machine Gun
Grenades

GENOSHA:
Can make ammunition/bombs
Can catch nades and throw them back
Can destroy certain doors

Weapon Loadout for genosha:
Submachine Gun
Grenade Launcher
Rocket Launcher
Grenades and various bombs.

IF we cannot do a multiplayer asspect, then a HL2 like weapon setup will be made useing the concepts.

Enemy Concepts:

Psychic Trooper:
Ok...think nemesis from RE3. This cannot be beaten by normal means. Im a BIG FAN of panicing in games, and nothing made me panic more than hereing "S.T.A.R.S!" then a rather large nastie RUNNING at me....We want to carry this sort of tradition on, so the psychic trooper will pop up at certain points and make life tough. If we can pull it off, we'd like to have him able to throw objects with his mind, extend its arms out to grab things with its claws, then proceeding to drag itself toward the player.
It won't be that fast, it will more, lumber towards the player (I find that a slow enemy that can't be beaten makes for even more panic...).

Computer Ideas.
The last boss (the computer) is huge. We want the player to work his way down a very large tubular like room, with the computer in the middle. not only will the computer throw enemies at you, but if we can [pull it of, we also want cables to come out ofit, much like the hydra and smack the player up agaisnt walls. There will be HUNDREADS of tv screens doted around the room, all depicting differnt things in human life (often what the computer doesn't like...war, famine, theft death that sort of thing), the more the computer gets angry, the more it shouts, shows more war like vids on screen, finally every TV will be flashing KILL YOU or DIE and such in red on every TV (we want theplayer to be distracted while all this goes on, the character is close to a nervos breakdown and we want the player to feel this to..)

As i was saying earlyer, team work is ESSENTIAL. I do so HATE games that boast co-op modes and it just turns out to be halo...
same shit just running round with someone else (who is often more crapper than you and just fails..) so we want to give the players certain events that HAVE To be done as a team, like:

Psychic Trooper Battle:
In this battle, we want whoever is playing sarge to act as bate (as he is the toughest and has the most hp he can survive this)
so sarge will be running round like a blue arsed fly, shooting the psychic trooper. Genosha's player will have to run round a large building site, going up platforms, ladders, stairs and such untill he reaches a crane, which he shall then proceed to drop lots of metal guirders onto said trooper. While these 2 are doing this, Hart's player will have to look out FOR BOTH the other players and shoot whatever enemies come nere the 2.

Ocean Chase:
In this sequence we want almost the ENTIRE wasteland run to be in an APC, being chased by gunships. Sarge will drive, Hart will operate a mounted gun (or just sit ontop of the apc fireing) while genosha is throwing bombs out the back to get rid of other nasties.

Survival Moments:
Much as I fucking hate these type of moments (BECUASE EVERYONE DOES THEM!!) ive been advised to put them in ¬_¬.
Hart will hack, or genosha well set us up the bomb. while the other 2 (some cases gen some cases hart) will defend him.



These are just a few ideas....and although i wouldn't like anyone useing them in somin else till we have atleast got somin concrete done on the mod, people are welcome to ...steal them i spose....just please say you got the idea from me Sad

Offtopic:Your APC chase reminds me of an old idea i used to have where freeman and a few conscripts would rush towards Airex in an APC with Overwatch troops and gunships pursuing them lol!

ok so lets see

the survivla part sounds OK
but please PLEASE dear lord, DO NOT ADD A TIME LIMIT

and the co-op
make that optional
like you can play single player as any one of the three marines
and if you die (in the story) you comeback as another, and in co-op you comeback as some generic marine dude with a similar load out

but wait, dont you need to run your own server for online co-op
doesn't that cost money?

it all seems awesome

yes and no kat. once upon a time games didn't have servers, and you had to host them yourself, or at lan. same applys for this, if someone wants to setup a server they can but utill we actulay have somin concrete then its just there.
And yes single player wil lbe an option.........but only if i can get a coder that can actulay make GOOD team AI. not one single game i play nowadays does yet the enemy has immense AI, bad codeing....

and yes i had the same idea doomlord for conscript marine, which iswhy ive carried it over to my mod.

survival mode WILL NOT have a time limit, it wil be based on BIOSHOCK mechanics (that is yu have to hack it yourself to enter). the player will have to sold puzzles and such in order to break the door. in genosha case they'll have to setup a bomb, conecting certain wires to things and pressing buttons in a certain order, lets say concet red wire to blue slot stuff like that, press these 4 buttons in the sequence you see them flash and such.

now ides people, i dont want cudos...i hate being praised i want to here what YOU LOT want to see in a game, ESPECIALY you 2 (doom at kat that is)

oh I know!

how about you can unlock a costume for each chacater

I have a few ideas

Genosha's will be like a kamikaze
with the head band with the red rising sun on it
he'll wear a Gi and have the symbol for crazy on it



Sarge will have like some military uniform with tons of medals and an big arse ammo sash
or maybe like a rambo outfit




Hart will have a hippie outfit
peace necklace, that frayed jacket thing, maybe a bag-O-weed in his pocket, those hippie glases
maybe Choad can ride on top of his head instead of his hat




so it's supposed to be funny
I mean why not?

GENOSHA IS A FUCKING KAMIKAZE ANYWAYS!!!

ROFL i actulay really likethat idea...i could imagine sarge dressed as big boss in mgs3...or hart in cyberpunk outfits or even a hippie as you suggest kat...ok thats another idea, but not for gameplay, we need gameplay ideas first before stuff lke that

ok so back to my idea when you die (in the story)
the characters you come back as are:

some russian soldier who like to drink himself into a coma
he'll be who you play as when you die as Genosha

if you die as sarge you come back as Sargent Douglas Macarthur
same name as a famous general, but he has NONE of the talent
he's an asshole, all his troops hate his guts, and Lazlo wants to kick him in the nuts (and has several times already)

Hart doesnt die in the story to my knowledge, and if he does, thats kinda of the end anyways

if you die in-game, you just respawn or wait for everybody else to die
and if they dont, then you have to wait till it's safe
you know, the Halo style of doing co-op

hmm not a fan of that ....mostly becuase desighing three new chars and giving them life...blerk, i think ill just make it like haloon that respect, if one dies he can respawn somewhere else...or combine the l4d idea with halo, if someoen dies they can only spawn after a checkpoint is reach and have to be gotten out of a cupboard or somin...

but not a fan of a complete character change

well they have the same arsenal and never talk exept when they get shot or something

oh and speaking of characters, I want to try out for Genosha
I got an awesome crazy ass voice, and it fits what you discribed to me a while ago

Awesome ideas, especially the Ocean Run.
About costumes; you could have:
-JC Denton style outfit (alternatively you could have something like Rick Deckard or some other cyber-noir style detective outfit)
-Maybe some Starship Trooper-like marine outfit ( maybe something similar to the Halo Combat Evolved marine outfits which are really badass)
As for gameplay:
-A gamemode much like the Attack/Defend modes of TFC, with the two sides wrestling for several control points (not just one at a time too) with some narrative sprinkled in between
-A Destruction gamemode (this is mostly an original idea, but I seem to remember playing something similar to that) where one side has to destroy a certain area or several, and the other has to defend them and/or rebuild.

Well i haven't talked to Hart about this much but i would actually like there to be different weapon sets for different times of the story.

Not sure if anyone here has ever played Uplink, but there is a FBI mod for that which adds some difficult combination lock puzzles, anyway my idea was to have a small room or safe in each map, and a GUI interaction between the player, so instead of the player having to cheat to get the juicy guns, they have to solve a difficult puzzle that will unlock some good weapons to use in that area.

Was thinking about this today actually :P

Think I've played Uplink, not sure about that FBI mod thing. As for the safe idea, sounds cool. Reminds me a bit of the Bad Company games, where you have to search around to find the better guns.

Yeah pretty much like B:BC.. except i wanted to put the safe sorta thing where everyone can see it, like not hidden but make a minigame puzzle type thing to get into it...

I think Bioshock has something like that, safes you can find in the levels. Sounds really cool and would give the levels some replay value.

Also, your avatar owns. Penn is fucking awesome.
